Just had a d.o.t. physical and was diagnosed with hematuria. whats the next step i should take to find out what is causing it? should i go see a specialist or just a family doctor for now?

See your family doctor first. Your family doctor may feel comfortable to run screening tests including urinalysis and blood chemistry. If you have an isolated hematuria with normal kidney function, you are more likely to have a benign condition which requires follow ups.

Agree with Dr. Park. Start with you primary care provider for an initial assessment and to ascertain if a specialist is needed and also what kind of specialist would be optimal. Wish you good health!
