Tooth grinding: During streesful episodes or sometimes in response to certain medications we may clench our teeth more than usual. This can cause the masseter muscle located in the cheek area to become tight from over contraction. Trying to become aware of this habit and disengage your jaw can be helpful. If you are doing it at night consult your dentist for a bite guard. Mudcle relaxants can be used briefly also.
