Depends: Depending on the location of the fracture to the fifth metatarsal healing can take him anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks to much longer. Fractures that are near the base of the fifth metatarsal may take longer to heal due to the body's vasculature in the area. This is called a jones fracture and often times surgery is performed to correct this type of fracture.
