Pain management: With temporomandibular disorders there isnt a set and defined pattern. You could also have referred pain from the jaw muscles. You can try applying ice over the neck and the face (where it hurts) for a couple of minutes; can also try Acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Consult an orofacial pain dentist if it has been going on for a while.

Evaluation Needed: At home you can do otc anti-inflammatories such as Ibuprofen or advil (ibuprofen). Soft diet and physical therapy are also some things you can do at home. Heating pad or ice is also options. You should go to the doctors to get evaluated and get a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan.
