Treat the problem: First of all, the ingrown portion of the nail must be removed or problem will not get better. If there is an infection, antibiotics are usually necessary. Soaking may also help. See podiatrist for proper treatment.

Fungus? or Bacteria?: There are topical and oral antifungal and antibiotic medications available for the treatment of nail infections. Have your nails evaluated and get the appropriate treatment.
