Ear infection: Cefaclor (brand name ceclor) is commonly used to treat middle ear infections (those that occur behind the ear drum). There are many causes of pain in the ear that are not related to infection - especially throat, jaw, dental and sinus problems - and many of these will not respond to Ceclor or other antibiotics.
