A member asked:

Should i seek hand therapy for arthritis?

Depends: This would depend on the kind of arthritis you have and what you mean about "hand therapy". Many have plain and simple osteoarthritis of the hands and it is painful. Warm parafin baths help. Usually no "hand therapy" needed. Some have rheumatoid arthritis and may need some splinting and other hand therapy and orthopedic treatment by a specialist in hand care. Yes...: At 34 years old with osteoarthritis is uncommon. If you have been diagnosed with arthritis then it is more likely posttraumatic. Therapy in the form of splints and other modalities can help with the symptoms of such arthritis. What is important is that the appropriate diagnosis has been made and any therapy referral is specific for your diagnosis.
