I have a 6 week old grand bay the cries inconsolable in the evening?

Colic: Sounds like colic which likes to turn a cute baby into a non-stop crying machinge in the evenings. As with most things, this too shall pass ... With lots of helpers to relieve the stress of having a colicky baby.

Pattern of sleep: I agree that most likely this is colic. Since the baby is only 6 weeks old though, I would check his temperature and let your physician know. Babies develop their own pattern of sleep, and most babies sleep through the night by 5 -6 months of age.
