No: Depending upon the content of salicylate, sulfur or any other active antinflammarory that mud may contain people may get a benefit from it. The temperature : warm or old has in itself some antiinflammatory properties.

No: Arthritis is the loss of cartilage within a joint, sometimes leaving the bone quite bare. It can be painful and cause accumulation of abnormal amounts of joint fluid. Rarely it can be bloody, secondary to trauma or infection. In all these scenarios, mud therapy aims to warm the joint and contribute to easing the pain. It will not "cure" the underlying problem.
