Hi i have a dented nail bed in the middle of my nail on my right thumb..what does that mean?

Hmmmmm: The nail grows from the cuticle or base of the fingernail upward, when it gets too long, they are cut; so the newest tissue is at the base. The middle of the nail probably started growing about 6 weeks ago. Perhaps you had some trauma to that nail at that time, perhaps the manicurist was too vigorous. Anyway, if it is only one nail, then it is not a systemic problem (pitting nails).
