Cut nail: See a dermatologist since you may have a fungal or bacterial infection.Stop wearing polish and cut your nail short. (you probably have oncholysis). Try a dilute solution of white vingar (t teaspoon in 1 cup of water and use a dropper to get it under the nail. If that burns, dilute it more. Keep the vinegar in the refrigerator. Wear white cotton dermal gloves sold in drugstores and rubber gloves.

Depends on the cause: Some causes of nail separation may include trauma, infection, and reaction or side effect of certain medications. Have them evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.
