A member asked:

What could it be if there is sharp shoulder pain which causes finger numbness?

Various: Carpal tunnel at wrist can cause pain referred to shoulder. Pinched nerve in neck could result in shoulder pain, associated with tingling and numbness in fingers. Brachial plexus problems may do the same. If worse with arm up, perhaps thoracic outlet, better up , maybe cervical.

Not clear: Thoracic outlet or local trauma and or nerve compression can be problems. Sort out cervical disc, thoracic outlet, or intra thoracic issues. Full history and exams! will lead to explanation.
