Do you have to take laughing gas for multiple dental extractions?

Not necessarily: You have options. There is just the shots where you are fully awake, laughing gas, oral sedation, intravenous sedation and general anesthesia. Consult with your dentist to see which option is good.

No: No. Nitrous oxide or laughing gas certainly is not "required" when getting wisdom teeth extracted. Nitrous oxide just helps to relax you more which may also help the numbing to work better. So although not required, it is a good idea to use it. Nitrous can be used during any procedure (even a teeth cleaning) if you are anxious and could use a little something to reduce your stress!

N2O2 as analgesic: Nitrous Oxide or laughing gas is an analgesic to help your relax and take the edge off any anxiety, but you will still require local anesthesia to eliminate any pain. If you would prefer you could have an oral surgeon or dental anesthesiologist put you to sleep for the surgery, but local under most situations is more than sufficient to have a comfortable surgical experience!

Not necessarily: Nitrous oxide or laughing gas is used to help with patient anxiety its by no means mandatory but a tool we use to help with patient comfort during dental procedure, you can opt to just use local anesthesia or be sedated for the procedure all could be viable options but your dentist needs to be on board with your decision.
