Get examined...: This could represent any number of conditions. I would see an orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon to get a diagnosis and start treatment. To make an appointment: www.Orthodoc.Aaos.Org/footankle.

Get diagnosed first: There are a number of things that can cause swelling in the ankles. This is a very nonspecific symptom. I recommend that some one with swelling in this area should be seen by orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon for a definitive diagnosis so that appropriate treatment can be started. You can find one in your area at: www.Orthodoc.Aaos.Org/footankle.
