29 weeks pregnant and just had very explosive diarrhea with low back pain and very tight stomach could this be a sign of premature labor ?

Possibly: You really should be examined by your obgyn, if you are having back pain with tight stomach. Hopefully it is all just a stomach bug that is causing your intestines to cramp up some. But you should notify your ob/gyn.

YES: Yes... You definitely should be assessed for preterm labor as well as the cause for the diarrhea. Sometimes preterm labor can be associated with diarrhea. Alternatively, severe diarrhea and dehydration can lead to uterine contractions and preterm labor. You should seek care from your OB provider to assess you for preterm labor, dehydration, and the cause of the diarrhea.
