Mildly effective: For androgenetic alopecia, or genetic male pattern baldness, Minoxidil can be mildly effective at maintaining hair density and regrowing hair. Propecia, (finasteride) is an oral medication, which can be more effective at regrowing hair. These remedies, however, are both more effective for younger men or men who are currently in the process of losing hair.
