Exercise: It will take some time and exercise to regain strength and motion in after a hand fracture . Most of the time the exercises can be done at home but if the hand is very stiff working with a physical or occupational therapist may be of benefit.

Stiffness: Hand fractures heal more readily and more quickly than other broken bones; usually in no more than 3-4 weeks. Stiffness from immobilization is much more common than non-healing. Your surgeon may just recommend range of motion exercises or hand therapy if necessary.
