Yes: Teeth issues, once they become symptomatic, continue to worsen in time. Uncontroled pain and swelling are two severe conditions. To be caught inflight or on a long travel assignment is not the circumstance you want to be in. I encourage you address them before you have an episode in flight.

Of course: Problems with your teeth can interfere with all aspects of your life, not much is immune. Ignore your teeth and they will go away... The sooner you have them examined and restored, the better off you will be.

Yes: Cabin pressures in the plane are not the same as on the ground. Dental infections can become very uncomfortable during flights from the pressure differences.
