Mouthwash: Listerine is one of the only mouthwashes to have documentation proving it fights gum disease with its essential oils. Other mouthwashes containing Fluoride are said to help prevent dental cavities. All mouthwashes are only another step along with brushing and flossing to achieve dental health. They should be used in moderation and use as directed by your dentist.

Fluoride: For children, Fluoride mouth wash...Use 1/2 amount stated on label...They are trying to sell product. For adults, the only mouthwash proven to reduce bacterial levels is listerine. Know that mouth wash does not replace either brushing or flossing (you must do both), but is an adjunct to oral health.
