Need eye exam now: With any trauma, it is important to have the eyes checked immediately. There is risk of infection, corneal abrasion, inflammation of the eye (iritis), and even retinal problems. If the injury happened in the past, it is possible to have recurrent problems related to the prior injury, and this can be also evaluated by an ophthalmologist during an eye exam.
