A member asked:

What foods can one eat to improve bone density and health in general at 50+ ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dairy products: If you have been on a low intake of calcium and vitamin d (or little sunshine) you might improve bone density slightly over several years by increasing milk and yogurt intake (8oz, provides 300 mg calcium) to receive 1000 mg a day. Salmon is the best food source of vitamin d but supplements are easier to be sure you get enough (generally 1000 units daily).
