A member asked:

What are some lasting effects of anesthetic for a aaa repair?

Minimal: The anesthesia from a AAA repair is really no different from any other type of general anesthesia, especially if the repair was performed using an endovascular approach. If the AAA repair was done open or in an emergent setting, patients are often anemic. In addition there are a lot of "fluid shifts" which cause significant edema post-operatively. Other common side affects are a sore throat&cough.

Weakness: Weakness and dizziness can stay for a while. Generally there are no long term effects of anesthesia consult with your surgeon, depends on type of surgery.
