Treat the cause: Arthritis, osteoporosis, neuropathy, radiculopathy, underlying medical problems can make the foot much more sensitive to pain. People with thinning of the plantar fat pad (which provides padding and cushioning to the foot) can thin, making feet more painful and sensitive. Shoes with good cushion and arch supports may help. See a podiatrist to diagnose the cause, and provide recommendations.
