What sports puts an athlete at risk for a ruptured spleen?

Contact sport mostly: Just about all contact sports have been associated with splenic trauma. Some are obviously worse than others (football, rugby, martial arts...). Your spleen is usually protected within your thoracic cage but if your spleen is enlarged or the rib cage is damaged (rib fracture - contact sport or fall - as in track and field...) it becomes vulnerable.
