You may have gout: You can soak the foot in hot water and epsom salt (without burning yourself) and take an anti-inflammatory. It would be important to follow up with an internist who will check your uric acid levels in the blood and then try and control it. Diet changes likely should be made and you may have to take medications if diet alone can't control the situation.
