Corticosteroids: The use of steroids in general depends on the conditions being treated. In some cases it's just a week and in others it's a life time. Good luck.

As little apossible : Steroids used to treat multiple conditions, however they might be dangerous as well, they can get you many side effects and complications and can cause diabetes, decreased immune system, bleeding problems to name the few. However in some medical conditions they are used long term as benefits outweigh the risks. You really should leave it up to your doctor as for how long you should be on them.
