Fatal insomnia: Familial fatal insomnia is an extremely rare disease which is transmitted by prion and affects family members. Please get your condition to be checked. Your condition might be due to sjogren disease which is very common condition and is manageable. It consists of dry mouth, dry eyes, and joint involvement.

Probably not: As answered many times before, sporadic fatal insomnia is extremely rare -- less than 20 cases known in the world. Please see a neurologist if you continue to be concerned about this -- but also you may benefit from seeing a psychiatrist as well. There can be helpful treatments for people who focus on having a serious illness, even though doctors have examined them and not found one.
