Safe.: Depends upon the specific agent, but antidepressants are generally very well tolerated for long periods of time. It is reasonable to try stopping antidepressants if your symptoms have been well controlled.

No worries!: Ghee i remember back in the 90's when Prozac (fluoxetine) first came out. It has not caused any issues at all. I still have patients who will periodically want to get back on it after 20 years. All the ssris seem to be safe. You still need a wellness program and exercise. Multivitamins and magnesium are powerful stabilizers to the soul. I have added in acupuncture to help medications work better. Massage/yoga.
