DO NOT BELIEVE SO: Not really bipolar disorder will require a mood stabilizer or will intensify and worsen over the years and become more difficult to treat.

Bipolar course: Not really. Both bipolar mania and depression require medication treatments. I believe you are referring to the natural course of the illness. Yes, eventually symptoms if mania or depression will subside, but first you have to "survive" the acute phase of the illness.
