Magnetic Resonance : Magnetic resonance imagining. Basically an MRI puts your body in a magnetic field which causes electrons and protons to allign in certain ways and special sensors and lots of computer power create a picture of whatever is being scanned. Neat huh? No x-rays are involved with an mri.
