Functional mri fmri: Is complicated. It looks at the blood flow to your brain during various segmented repeated activities like tapping your fingers or looking at a optical maze. But it can also include diffusion tensor imaging, proton spectroscopy and other images. www.medscape.org/viewarticle/776272 discusses some of the new imaging MRI techniques for brain tumors.
