Progesterone: Progesterone is given to thin the endometrial stripe. This should obviously be done under the care of your physician.

Why is it thick?: The lining of the uterus gets thick later in your cycle and when pregnant. If your lining is very thick in the first few days after your period, it could mean you have endometrial polyps or endometrial hyperplasia, an abnormal overgrowth of the lining which can (rarely at 34) become pre-cancerous. See your OB or a reproductive endocrinologist for help - you may need a biopsy &/or a saline sonogram.
