Be appropriate: Myelopathy implies damage to the spinal cord. A program of controlled exercise is very important to recover from such injury. Excessive exercise may be harmful. I assume that the spinal defect that caused the injury has been repaired. A controlled therapy program should have been provided. Build up your exercise tolerance with appropriate supervision.

Perhaps: Neck movement can worsen cervical spondylotic myelopathy by irritating the spinal cord even more. So exercise with neck movement could be bad. On the other hand, lack of all exercise leads to deconditioning. This makes weakness and stamina worse. If you have mylelopathy, see someone who cares for myelopathy patients.

Not directly: Spondylitic myelopathy is spinal cord compression due to arthritic changes of the spine. Recent research has shown that there is a strong genetic component to arthritis of the spine and that activity (or lack of activity) may not play as big a role as once thought in the development of spine arthritis. Myelopathic patients should seek input from a spinal surgeon for specific recommendations.
