Many causes`: There are many causes of nail clubbing. The most common is lung disease, then heart disease, gastrointestinal (as malabsorbtion), liver disease (cirrhosis), thyroid and even a congenital born defect called eisenmenger syndrome.

Clubbing: Can be caused by GI issues like malabsorption, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s Dz, Cirrhosis & hepatopulmonary syndrome. Lung causes may include: TB, Sarcoidosis, Mesothelioma, lung cancer, interstitial dz’s and conditions that cause pus to build up in lung structures. Any heart conditions that cause hypoxia. (Atrial myxoma & bacterial endocarditis). Graves Dz.
