Not much: Not much is really in the literature. I tell my patients to limit salt to decrease fluid retention in general. Really it's the exercises and massage that will help the most.

It really depends on the cause: parasites, heart failure, cacncer and more. Generally exercise and massage helps.

No: Lymphedema is a long term problem that needs long term management to be truly successful. Manual lymphatic drainage and compression therapy are the mainstays of treatment.
