Psychotic meds.: Depending on type of antipsychotic med. Used & whether u are prescribed meds. To combat side-effects. Long-term use of most antipsychotics can result in involuntary movements called dyskinesias.

Antipsychotics: I agree with dr. Ali about movement disorders after long-term use of antipsychotics. In some patients this happens much sooner than 23 years. Several of the newer antipsychotics (zyprexa, seroquel, (quetiapine) etc) also bring the risk of weight gain, Insulin resistance, and metabolic syndrome even though they may be less likely to cause dyskinesias -- depending on dosage. These are serious considerations.
