Need to : Discuss this with your orthopedic surgeon. May just need exercises. But then depends on findings on MRI or other diagnostic test results , he may need surgery.

Depends: If this was note as an incidental finding, likely not. If this is causing symptoms for a patient, depending on the nature and severity, possibly. Talk to a board certified foot and surgeon for more detailed information.
