A member asked:

How long does it take to recover from a knee ligament injury? is it ok for pt to make you hurt?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: It depends on the ligament injured and the extend of injury. A mild to moderate mcl strain/sprain with take 4-6 weeks. On the other hand an acl rupture will take 6 or more months after major reconstructive surgery. It is generally ok for pt to "hurt". Experience and professionalism is important in controlling these issues.
