My dad has dementia and has pneumonia right now is he going to be ok?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Antibiotics: Depends upon severity of infection and your dad's dementia. Typically, advanced alzheimer's patients can eventually die from pneumonia or other infections. Antibiotics can cure the pneumonia, but there is no cure for most dementias. He will probably do well over the present, but risk of future additional complications are likely.
