Most probably not!: Several medications cause dry mouth including anti hypertensives, anti-depressants, anti-epileptics, muscle relaxants, anti-psychotics and anti-histaminics (benadryl, claritin). Additionally, smoking/tobacco can also cause dry mouth. Trouble speaking usually occurs if the dry mouth is extreme; you should consult an oral pathologist regarding the trouble speaking part.
