Size and pressure: Your blood pressure and the size of your AAA are more important in rupture risk. The risk of rupture starts to rise at 5 cm size. Keep your BP low (medication) get your AAA monitored by a vascular provider. Endovascular stent repair is a great option if you are a candidate.

AAA rupture: Anything that dramatically increases blood pressure could increase the chance of aneurysm rupture. It is the diameter of the aneurysm, however, that is most closely tied to the risk of an aneurysm rupturing.

Not likely: Surprisingly exercise typically lowers your blood pressure. Patients with aaas would do well with regular exercise. Physical exertion and activity will not cause a AAA to rupture. Ongoing smoking/tobacco use and high blood pressure at baseline will increase chances of groth of the AAA and potential rupture.
