I may have got temporal arteritis(gca) and waiting on tests, been put on steroids (40mg a day). ive read it could be genetics & my dad had an abdominal aortic aneurysm(aaa). could i be more likely to have cga because my dad had an aaa and it was bad?

I doubt there's a relationship between a family history of AAA and propensity to develop temporal arteritis. However temporal arteritis can affect the aorta and cause aneurysm and dissection. There is a genetic component to the development of temporal arthritis or GCA.
