Find clean fresh air: People who get asthma symptoms around airborne pollens, chemicals, and particles can aim for a career that takes them away from the things that bother them. Perhaps working in an field like marine biology, where the ocean air should be clean, and the seawater unchlorinated; or maybe studying the icepack in greenland or the environment in desert areas where fewer plants pollinate.

Without allergens: There is no perfect answer to this question. Clearly working in an organic chemistry lab or perfume factory is out; most offices these days have rules about perfumes and body scents. Working carefully with your employer to limit exposures helps - but don't be hypervigilant as people tend to think that you are insane even if there is a real trigger present if you act insane. Good luck!

Depends...: Asthmatics need to know what the potential triggers of their asthma are so that these triggers can be avoided as much as possible. Finding a job where exposures to triggers are minimized becomes possible when the triggers are known. See your doctor for evaluation to determine your triggers.
