Yes, or may not need: Yes, you can wear contact lenses after cataract surgery. Cataract surgery does not change the shape of your cornea/eyes therefore you can continue your contact. But, most of the time cataract surgery may eliminate your need for contacts. You may not need contact after your surgery.

Unlikely: Current cataract removal involves the replacement of the removed lens with a corrective artificial lens. So in most cases no glasses or contacts are need except for reading lenses in the most commonly used lens.
