A member asked:

My 6 year old woke up overnight with abdominal pain, fever of 102, and vomiting. i have been giving him sips of water. what else can i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fever & vomiting: Your son exhibits symptoms of possible appendicitis. If jumping causes pain in the lower abdomen, it could be that. If not, you can continue water, pedialyte or gatorade. Monitor the abdominal pain settling on the lower abdomen, either right or left. Is there sore throat, it could be strep throat. If with diarrhea - stomach virus. If constipated - rule out urinary tract infection.
