When doing ct of chest what's the difference with and without contrast?

See below: No contrast shows you the lung fields. Contrast enables you to see blood clots in the pulmonary vessels as well as differentiate between lymph nodes and vessels in the mediastinum, overall a better study if you can tolerate it (allergies, renal function).
