Not needed: Long-term studies show no difference in growth with a "holiday" schedule vs. Daily use of stimulants. Adhd is a neurodevelopmental disorder with symptoms that can impact academics, behavior & peer interaction. Most children take their meds on weekends. Teens who drive definitely need their meds. Some parents choose not to give meds during the summer, starting back 2 weeks before school starts.

Individual: Don't have 2 take daily some kids hold on weekends some holidays some summers and some take it every day--(stimulants) strattera (atomoxetine) is different have to take it regularly.
