What are the signs that one may have a cataract?

Vision problems: Such as blurring, glare (like difficulty seeing when oncoming headlights are seen on the road), rapidly changing eyeglass/contacts prescription. See an eye doctor.

Many: Can have many symptoms. Most common are decreased in vision with activities of daily living. Reading small print, street signs, glare from lights, halos or star-bursting at night, reading the sports score on tv, etc.

Signs of cataract: Cataracts cause halos/glare especially when driving at night, blurry vision, loss of contrast sensitivity (decreased contrast between objects & background ) & decreased vision: even on; these symptoms worse with time. Signs = objective: Signs are the technical term for what an eye doctor observes with his instruments. Early cataracts require sophisticated instruments for detection. Symptoms are what the patient experiences - and I think that is what you are asking. You could have blur, light sensitivity, halos, glare and lowered acuity. Check with your ophthalmologist if you have concerns.
