Some options.: Stage IV lung cancer is often considered too widespread for surgery to work. However, if the lung disease is limited and has spread to one isolated area, such as the uterus only, then surgery could potentially be an option depending on age, lifestyle, desire for future fertility, etc. The majority of stage IV lung cancers are treated with some combination of chemotherapy and targeted therapy.
