It could be do to a : Pinched nerve in your neck or in your arm like a carpal tunnel syndrome or even both. If it is troubling for you, see your doctor for an evaluation. There can be other causes as well.

Maybe: Patients with carpal tunnel syndrome often complain that their hands feel swollen and numb. When does it occur? If it is persistent, I'd have it checked by your physician.
